Supportive Services for Critical Care Nurses

Hi, my name is Richard Wirth and I am the Critical Care Partners Coordinator.

I am a CCRN, have an extensive Critical Care background and hold a Graduate Diploma in ICU nursing.

Nursing Agency Australia NASANSB offers Critical Care Partners, which emphasizes a partnership between agency nurses that work in critical care areas, focusing on the professional and personal development of nurses.

Critical Care Partners will focus on your needs as a nurse, primarily centering on education and professional development and will include:
  • Professional development seminar in areas related to critical care nursing.
  • Reduced rates for in-house ICU seminars, education and training.
  • Having your say about the things that are important to your professional development, by having a point of contact at the agency.
Latest Project for Critical Care Partners

Survey of our Critical Care nurses was created to address the following.
  • Replace the term Vent Comp commonly used by Nurse Unit Managers, with a level of competency to help clients identify expected skills possessed by our individual nurses.
  • Improve need versus skill mix issues frequently highlighted by the Nurse Unit Managers.
  • Identify Education requirements to support our nurses to provide a higher level of service, and develop their knowledge and skill base.
Benefits to our Critical Care Nurses
  • Educational support which is driven by our nurses actual responses, rather than what we think you might need.
  • Improved placement at Critical Care Units where your individual skills will be recognised, rather than a generic agency nurse.
  • Being part of a team of Critical Care nurses which recognises the need for professional development, and individuality is valued.
Please feel free to contact me regarding any ICU or agency related issues.
